About Captain Jack & The Strangers: A Tribute to Billy Joel

“New England’s #1 Tribute to Billy Joel,” Captain Jack & The Strangers bring the full force of Joel’s catalog to life with passion, energy, and respect. Founded in Gloucester, this six-person band draws on 30+ years of collective experience in music and live performance.

Fronted by Captain Jack Favazza, whose smooth vocals and piano work channel Billy Joel’s essence, the band is rounded out by a tight-knit crew: Michael Lindberg (sax, keys, harmonica), Mark Pelosi (lead guitar), Jim Frontiero (rhythm/acoustic), Michael Parsons (bass), and Steve Russo (drums).

They cover the full sweep of Joel’s oeuvre — from the early piano-ballads to the rock anthems of the ’80s and beyond — delivering each song with fidelity and flair. Whether playing in intimate club settings, waterfront stages, or large venues, they aim to evoke the same emotional connection and excitement that Billy Joel fans know so well.
